Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI am near Boston, zone 5, I believe. Have a weigela in new home that has not been touched for 4+ years. It is lovely at top but very leggy and branches are also growing out over other plants. I would like to trim those branches but am wondering if it wouldn’t be better to cut the whole plant back for fuller regrowth in general?

Weigelas are tough and feisty, a good plant to start practicing the old gardening adage — Fear Not The Pruners.
