Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI live in Ohio and I have a lemon tree in a pot. I got it 4 years ago in Florida. It is growing really tall and skinny. I bring it indoors in the winter months. But this winter I don’t think I will get it in the door from growing too tall. How and when do I prune it?

You can prune it in spring or summer. Lemon trees are pruned mainly to maintain a pleasing shape, so you can prune as you see fit to shape it the way you like. Do not cut off more than 1/3 of the plant per year as this can hurt the plant.
