How to make grapefruit give sweet fruit

What must I do to make the fruit on my grapefruit tree sweet? It is bitter now.

Most grapefruits are generally on the ‘tart’ side naturally, though the red/pink varieties are sweeter. Sometimes you can try increasing the fertilizer and making sure the soil is slightly acidic, around 6.5. This should sweeten the fruit.
