Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comAs a total newcomer to growing my own, I bought Bayer Garden Ultimate bug killer spray to try to wipe out the tiny black bugs on my broad beans. Now I am really worried in case it makes the beans unsafe to eat when I harvest them. Can the spray be washed off? By the way, I still have the aphids or whatever they are but just a smaller amount.

It lasts 6 weeks on the plant. Washing them may reduce this by a week or so. It is not recommended to eat plants that are treated with this until after the 6 weeks and it has broken down.

Oh, and I like neem oil for treating aphids. It is safe for humans to eat and is effective. Here is more information:
