Q.How to kill and remove bamboo’s massive roots?
I have four beds of bamboo I have been trying to kill for four years now, one in particular is over the drain field. I keep the canes cut close to the ground but new growth comes each spring and I have to keep cutting it down through the summer. I want to dig it up but the ground is incredibly hard, you can’t get a shovel or a pick ax through it. I found an environmentally safe homemade recipe that’s made of vinegar, salt and dish soap, however, I would need gallons of this mixture to cover what I have, it’s not cost effective, I would need so much vinegar it’s ridiculous. How can I effectively break up the roots and soil so I can actually use these beds for something useful? Thank you
