How to keep mice and etc from your stored potatoes

Ok, so I have a cellar, however, mice are also there. How can you store potatoes properly and also keep mice from getting into them. Also, in the winter I use a grow light in the cellar because I keep some of my favorite yard plants there that are not winter hardy. I believe the grow light will not be bennificial to storing potatoes, correct?

I would suggest that your potato storage be kept in a separate area as your plants that are wintering over.
The needed climate and temperatures are likely not the same, depending on the plants.
