How To Improve The Quality Of Clayey Gardening Soil?

The gardening soil which I use in my pots is of clayey type. I mix it with cocopeaf and compost, to improve the drainage, but still it doesnt help. It remains soggy and its difficult to grow new plants in them. How do I improve the drainage of potting soil?

Try adding about 25 to 30 percent perlite to improve drainage.
