How To I Grow A Crepe Myrtle Back From A Stump That Is Producing Sprouts?

I bought a house where the previous owners cut down 2 crepe myrtles but did not remove the stumps. 1 stump is producing sprouts, the other is not. Can I grow the crepe myrtle back from the 1 producing sprouts & how? All I can seem to find pertaining to stumps is how to remove them but I really prefer to regrow them if possible. Thanks!

Just choose one leader and keep the rest pruned back. This will require constant care and pruning to keep one, single leader.

Here is an article for the care of the shrub:
