Zone Zone 10 | New Garderner added on September 9, 2021 | Answered

I have some aerial roots (12-24 inches) of a banyan trees. Is it possible to grow a tree by planting the tip of the roots alone? I could not cut the stem since it was high and very thick.

Technically, yes. With the right auxin/cytokinin ratio, you can force shoot growth. Usually, a cytokinin spray, such as a bud set spray, will force shoot growth. That may be all that it takes!
