If I buy red hot chili peppers, and want to grow them, do I plant the whole pepper, or open them up and plant the white seed inside?

It will be best to take the seeds out, and let them dry out. After this, you can plant one per container, or one or two every 3 or 4 feet or so. Once they germinate, you can snip the weaker one in each place so that there is only one plant per spot.
