Q.How To Grow A Jade With One Trunk

Zone 21842 | Ggsurfs added on March 31, 2021 | Answered

I received several cuttings of a jade and planted them in a pot and they are growing well. My goal is to have a nice big jade with a single trunk. I know this will take several years. My question is should I have just started with on cutting? And then prune to get split branches? Or will the 3 or 4 little cuttings come together as one trunk given time? thank you

If the multi cuttings were placed very close together (remove lower leaves) and secured with string, they should merge. You may have to continue to remove lower leaves and add more string as it grows.
