Q.how to get roses to bloom

Zone 90712 | Anonymous added on June 13, 2017 | Answered

I have a couple rose bushes in my flower bed that used to bloom now they arent. I’m wondering if I should cut them back I have noticed wholes in the leaves I’m assuming the bugs are eating them. I was told by the nursery to spray for bugs which I did but they told me no need to trim them down. Please advise. Thanks

I am going to give you a couple links to articles I have written on these subjects. For the insect issues with holes in the leaves, I recommend buy a product called Bayer Tree and Shrub Granules and give them a treatment of that per the label instructions for Shrubs/Ornamentals. Here are the article links for you that should help you out: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/flowers/roses/no-blooms-on-roses.htm

https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/flowers/roses/rose-deadheading.htm and this link too if you have some of these rosebushes: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/flowers/roses/self-cleaning-roses.htm
