Q.How To Get Rid Of Moss
I have 1700 sq feet of planted garden with plants small and large. There is moss growing between the plants. Research on internet syas there is PH balance issue and I should put a layer of soil and compost mixture (70% soil and 30% compost). Do I have till the open spaces with hand and then mis the 100% compost or a mixture of compost and top soil? Any suggestion on how to get rid of the moss? Parimal Sheth

Moss in your garden usually means low soil pH, excess moisture, or compacted soil. Adding a 70/30 mix of soil and compost can help, but it’s best to test your soil pH first. If it's too acidic, you may need garden lime to raise the pH.
For application, you don’t need to till deeply—just scratch the surface with a rake or hand tool to work the mixture in between plants. A thin layer of 100% compost in open spaces can also help improve soil structure, but mixing with topsoil keeps it balanced.
To get rid of the moss, improve drainage and aeration, and if shade is a factor, consider adjusting plant placement. If the moss keeps returning, you might need a more alkaline amendment like wood ash or lime.
