How to get rid of grasshoppers

Does Dr. Bronner’s soap kill grasshoppers? They are eating away my plants.

How effective it is, I do not know, but I have heard this is often recommended for treating grasshoppers in the garden. I know the soap works well on soft-bodied insects though. I would certainly give it a try, as it can't hurt.
