Q.How To Get Rid Of Bugs On Leaves And In Apples On My Spartan Apple Tree?

I sprayed in the early spring Last year with some spray from Home Depot. It failed .I ended up with many apples infested with bugs in the fall. The Apple tree is about 80 feet from a lake. Any homemade recipe instead of commercial one?
