how to get rid of ants in the grass

Last summer my lawn looked like a ant colony moved in. Hills and holes were everywhere. They were black ants. The lawn looked dried out and dead. I spread out ant killer over the lawn, which did absolutely nothing. So I’m asking how do I address the lawn this year? It has never been the greenest of lawns, more sand than dirt…

Since pesticides did not work well for you in eradicating those ants, how about trying some of the ideas in this article:
