how to eradicate knotweed

Question

We have a large growth of knotweed on a lot we own across the street from our house. We’ve been trying for years to eradicate it. My husband has sprayed with bleach, Round Up and other things. Nothing seems to work. He’s just been cutting it back lately with a Stihl cutter but it always comes back. We’ve asked for ideas from several local nurseries but no one seems to have any idea of how to successfully eradicate it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
