Q.How to Downsize a Weeping Cherry

Zone 5 | Mapfromsalem added on November 13, 2012 | Answered

My weeping cherry is natural, not grafted. It is way too wide. I have removed unhealthy branches. To take it down, do I prune from underneath, – the inside to out , assuming the remaining outer branches will fall in a tighter circle or do I prune from the outside in, trimming the outer branches. This thing is now as wide as it is tall!
Thanks!!
