How to Dig Up and Thin Out Monkey Grass

My monkey grass is spreading rapidly and I find it extremely difficult to dig up. I want to reduce the width of it by half. Is there a garden tool that can be used for this purpose?

Unfortunately, your only option here is to use a shovel and dig it up. However, if you want to get rid of the plant, most common weed killers will kill monkey grass.
