Q.How to deal with caterpillars eating plant leaves

It looks like caterpillars of the large white butterfly, which aid in pollination. They probably won't defoliate the whole plant and most people just let it go. If it becomes more than you can bear, you can use a safer insecticide such as Neem oil or Bacillus thuringiensis.
