changing existing terraced gardens

How to change existing terraced veggie gardens to some form of keyhole or permaculture? I have 3 terraced beds, about 8×5, going down a hillside facing south in Boulder, CO. They are baked by the sun all 4 seasons. For years they were double dug with added compost but have become more compacted and less productive. I have used wood blocks to step on so as not to add to the problem. I can no longer maintain it as is (74 female with bad shoulder). Could perhaps get help for this fall yet before freezing, though. Also, I have high winter winds.

Keyhole gardening is an excellent way to garden and the vegetables and plants are so easy to reach.

I’m listing some links to help you get started with your project.
