Q.How to care for indoor Streptocarpus plant

Zone Mid-Maryland | Tate44 added on March 12, 2015 | Answered

I had an indoor Streptocarpus plant given to me in January. It bloomed for a while & I pinched off dead blooms. Since no blooms have appeared, should I pinch off the stem where the bloom was, as some of the stems are now brown. I may have given too much water, don’t know really what I have done wrong Also, should I water from the bottom? I just re-potted with fresh soil. Thank you.

I think you may have overwatered your Streptocarpus. They like to have a well drained soil, so make sure you have used a well draining potting mix. I would not water from below, just simply water around the pot when the soil has dried slightly.
