Q.How To Care For Duranta Eracta Placed In Hot Sun Too Early

Zone 70090 | Anonymous added on June 10, 2025 | Answered

After transplanting a duranta eracta into a larger pot, it was in full morning sun. Upon discovering the leaves wilting I moved it out of the sun. That evening I sprayed a light mist of water on the entire plant. Do I cut back the drooping on leaves and brown flowers?

It is probably drooping from the transplant shock more so than the morning sun. Leave it in a shady area to recuperate from the transplant and keep it watered. You can deadhead any spent flowers. Trim the plant by about a third to enable it to focus on regrowing roots if it lost a lot during the transplant.
