The flowers and the top 1 inch of my orchid plants (indoor) have died. Can they be pruned so that they will procreate?

Flowers on an orchid plant will die (fall off) after 3 months or less. They start dying at the top first since that was the first to open. The stem they are on should be cut back to the second nodule from the bottom. Then every week water with an orchid fertilizer. Never fertlize when buds start to show on a stem . Also, when you water put orchid in the sink and let the water run through it. Never let orchid sit in water. The plant should rebud in 4 to 6 months. Good Luck!
