Q.How Should I Take Care Of My Crepe Myrtle After Dealing With Sooty Mold
Hi. Good evening. Last year I noticed my crepe myrtle leaves were covered in black and the ornamental rocks below them were also black. I did a little research and realized it was sooty mold. This year, I did a soil treatment in early spring and also sprayed it with neem oil every other week for a few months. I have attached some pics. I gave this bush up for being dead but a few weeks ago, it starting growing. Question, from the pics…It does appear a lot of the old bush is dead. Should I cut out all of the dead branches which would leave me with very little of the new growth? Thanks in advance.Mark

Yes. You can cut any dead growth. It is just in the way, at this point.
