Eggplant needs moist, NOT wet, soil. Kept evenly moist, the plant will produce a better crop thhan those plants alowed to dry between waterings. Kept too wet constantly will lead to root problems. The amount of water your plant will need depends on several things: type and texture of soil, temperature, wind, sun, and size of the plant.
