I have a hybrid tea rose and it has a bud that is still closed. How long before it is opened?

That really depends on the rose and sometimes the temps too. Some red roses open oh so slowly and may take a couple weeks between bud full formation, showing of color and then bloom. Some yellow roses seem to be a bud one moment and are fully blown blooms a couple hours later!! The warmer temps tend to bring the blooms out of the bud stage sooner than do the cooler temps. However the better bloom forms and more vivid colors seem to come out when the temps are cooler.
