Q.How Many Nights At 4 Degrees Can Tomato And Pepper Plants Take?
I have an enclosed plastic mini greenhouse. It doesn’t do a lot for temperature, but is wind protection. It has been really warm in the day and things are growing, evening temps are fluctuating. For about 5-6 days in a row, night temperatures reach a low of 10 degrees. Covered in a greenhouse, is this ok? Temperatures will rise to 12/13, but then for 2 days next week it will reach 4 degrees at a low. Will this kill my plants? I have done what I can: hot water bottles in the greenhouse, felt around the pots, and closing it up about at hour until the sun stops to maintain heat. Will my tomatoes and peppers be ruined? Should I try to take all of the pots inside for the nights? I’ve read so many things about ‘ideal temperatures’ but none saying if two cold nights will ruin the plants for the season.
