How Long Should I Wait For Leaves To Appear?

I acquired this 4 foot Jabo tree from Miami it was planted in the ground for two years started losing its leaves we potted tree for a couple of months and planted it in my yard in Orlando and still no leaves any advice?

It sounds like it is quite stressed! You can check to see if it is alive by bending the branches and checking to see if they are still alive. They will not snap if they are still alive, but they will bend. You can, also, scratch the bark. If it is green beneath, then it is still alive.
