cowpea seeds

How long should cowpea seed dry before being planted? I am saving pea seed from this year’s crop and intend to replant to get more of the desirable ones before frost. The cowpea seeds are “Creme Zipper” or some people call them just “Zipper Peas.”

Allow the peas to dry on the vine. Shell the peas and dry again for a few days. Store in an airtight container. You can generally save these seeds 4 to 7 years in a cool and dry location.
