How long can I keep Iris in storage?

I am moving and need to know about how long can you keep Iris’s in storage? I am moving to Idaho (Nampa) and need to take some with me.

I would recommend potting the iris up for the move during this time of year. If the move is in the fall you can store the dormant rhizomes.
