How Long Can Flowers Be Out Of The Ground?

In the midst of replanting hosta and snap dragons I was pulled away and then it started raining. How long can they be outside, out of ground?

It is very hard to say. This depends, heavily, on the humidity and the amount of sun that was shining on the root area. As long as they do not have a chance to dry out, then they should transplant, just fine. Here are a couple of articles to help you with their care:
