Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comLast September, my yard was flooded from Hurricane Ida. The flooding was a mix of rain and sewer water. Will I be able to plant an edible garden in my yard this year? I am concerned with how long the area could be contaminated. If yes, what steps do I need to take to make my usual garden area safe for planting? Thank you for any advice you can offer.

If the area was contaminated with sewer water, creating raised beds and bringing in new soil may give you the most peace of mind.
In your usual garden spot, consider having the soil tested for chemical contaminants. It won't be able to show biological contaminants. According to the article below, enough time has passed to wait for an edible crop but it does suggest planting a cover crop first.
