Recently cut down a mulberry tree and want to drill holes an fill with salt. I got a spade bit for the job, but it seems the tree is too wet to drill. How long should I wait to drill the holes? Or how long does it take for the stump to be dry enough to drill?

A moist stump will actually speed up the rotting/decaying process. I don’t think you necessarily have to wait for it to completely dry out to drill holes.
