Q.How Large Of A Shrub Can Be Planted In A 20” High Planter

Would like to use planters to provide privacy. Ideally I would like total height including both planter and shrub to be 5’. I don’t know if a 20” high planter is large enough and if no what size planter would help me achieve my purpose

Allow 9-10 inches of soil for most plants, and maybe more if you're wanting them to grow. You'll want the plant's root ball to be completely tucked in, right up to the top of it. If you're planting shrubs, you should consider their mature size and whether they'll become top-heavy.
