How does milk affect plant growth?

Adding a little milk will not do any harm. In fact, it may even help the plant grow faster, since it's a useful fertilizer. However, using too much milk is not a good idea since the bacteria in it will spoil in the soil and result in a foul odor and wilty, poor growth.
