Q.How do you prune a hibiscus plant

Zone 44333 Akron, Ohio | skihotman added on October 11, 2015 | Answered

My hibiscus plants are 4 to 7 feet tall. I would like to thin them and make them shorter so they will be easier to handle when I bring them in for the winter. The plants are too big and too unwieldy for me to handle any more.

Thank you,
Michael Kermizis

Hibiscus can be cut back to a good growing bud or branch, but not too much!
