How do I rid my lawn of creeping charlie (ground ivy). Thanks

My wife and I took this menance too lightly and now it has got ahead of us in our lawn. A herbicide spray would be wonderful. If need be hands and knees pulling may be required even if we are in our mid seventies. Thanks for any suggestions.
