I need to know what tools to use and how I would go about removing a 5 foot tall by 5 foot wide gardenia bush.
How Do I Remove Gardenia Bush

It may or may not survive a move. Gardenias don't like change and the larger the plant is when you move it, the more likely it is to die. That being said, you can improve its chances of surviving by making sure to dig up as much of the rootball as possible, using a sturdy shovel. Move it quickly from the old location to the new. It will help to have the new location dug up and ready for the plant even before you dig it up from the old location. Trim the plant back by 1/3-1/2 once it is moved and water it frequently.
