Q.How do I prune a large fig tree?

Zone 38655 | gmerritt added on September 17, 2012 | Answered

I have moved into a house that has a very large fig tree in the backyard. Someone told me that if I pruned it back some it would produce more figs. How do I go about pruning it and how much do I take off? It is very tall and spread out.

Thank you!!!

Don't take off more than 1/3 of the tree at any given time. This article will help with pruning: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/fruits/figs/pruning-fig-trees.htm
