How Do I ‘Over Winter’ A Peach Tree in a Pot?

I bought the peach tree and planted it in a pot early this summer (2012) – I had a clutch of 7 golf ball size peaches which were very sweet and juicy that I picked mid-October. What is the best thing to do with the plant now to hopefully carry on next year? (I live in mildish Devon)

As long as you grow a variety that is suitable for your area, then there should not be anything specific for you to do over winter, as the tree goes dormant and does require some cold in order to produce. For trees grown outside your hardniess zone, you should either wrap them, mulch them or bring them indoors. Normally, with container grown trees, moving them to an unheated garage or similar location should suffice.
