How do I get rid of small white flying insects on hibiscus & poinsettias plants?

My blooming Hibiscus plant has small white flying insects all over, these bugs have now invaded my poinsettias. What should I do to get rid of these pests? Both potted plants are outdoors for the summer weather. Thank you. I do not own a camera phone.
