Q.How Do I Get Rid Of Invasive Grape Vine Plants

Zone 55113 | ajmencke2 added on July 5, 2020 | Answered

I have grape vine plants that are invasive and want to remove them from the garden. They’re mixed in with desirable shrubs and plants so I don’t want to use an herbicide.

Without chemicals, diligence will be your only option. Cutting all new instances of the plant, and keeping them cut as they appear will kill them over a few years.

Let up a little in routine, and they will be back full force.

Chemical means can clear them of the area within a season if you carefully paint it onto the cut stems, avoiding other areas of the garden, and your skin and lungs.
