ants on plants

How do I get rid of and control ants attacking my rose bushes and dwarf Meyer lemon tree? I find ants, they appear to be black ants, crawling on the leaves of my rose bushes and on the leaves of the dwarf lemon tree. I also find them coming out of the ground fron underneath the roses bushes and lemon tree.

Ants can be killed by pouring hot water into their nest. This will not harm the roses. Otherwise an insecticide for aphids will probably work.
