Q.How Do I Get My Taylor Gold Pears To Ripen.
For the second year in a row, (bought the property just last year), my Tree is laden but they are always hard. I do not have this issue with any of the other fruit trees in the garden. There is plenty of fruit, and they are actually quite enormous… but they just don’t seem to ripen on the tree. I ended up giving them away to the local Monkey Haven last year.. and I am about to do the same this year. Please tell me if you have any ideas. They look perfect but taste awful becausse they are clearly NOT ripe. The only ones that have dropped… have rotted before they ripen… don’t understand.

These pears are a bit finicky. They don't set fruit all that well, and if this is a young tree then you can expect the first few years of harvest to be of poor quality and quantity.
