How do I combat bacterial canker on tomato plants? Plants are turning brown from the bottom.

Some things are out of a gardeners control when it comes to preventing fungus issues and disease with tomato plants.
Good soil, adequate sunlight, even watering, air circulation, crop rotation are important preventative measures.
