Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI have African violets that sit on a plastic shelf in a water reservoir. The edges of the shelf are encrusted with a brown build up. I have tried soaking them in vinegar and vinegar/baking soda mixture. I have scrubbed them with Bar Keepers Friend and scrubbing pad. While I have removed some of it, most of it stubbornly remains. Is it time to replace them?

We don't make product recommendations, but if the tips below don't help, replacement could be your best bet.

You might also try baking soda alone, mixed with enough water to make a paste, then apply to stain. Wait about 30 minutes, then rinse.
