Q.How Do I Choose The Right Spot To Plant Persimmon?
I live in zone 5A (I think) and am still somewhat of a beginner gardener especially with unfamiliar plants, i.e; fruits, veggies, herbs, and flowers too. This season I’ve added a few new plants to my garden plan, but I’m nervous about the persimmon fruit. Where do I start? It’s a tree, correct? So I will have to decide on a spot to plant it? Any advice will be much appreciated!!

Persimmon trees need to be planted in full sun with well-draining soil. You also need to determine if you bought the American persimmon or the Asian variety. The Asian variety doesn't need a pollinator, but the American persimmon does. In other words, if you have the American persimmon, you need a male and female tree to get fruit. However, a few American cultivars are self-fruitful. One is ‘Meader.’ These articles should help:
