How do I care for a Guava tree which has been cut off at the mid section?

All the branches were cut off where the branches start. It is a small tree planted last fall. The branches were full of fruit. Currently, I put them in a vase with Miracle Grow but don’t know if this will help. I am wondering if the the tree is still alive, as it still has the stem in the ground. Any ideas to save the tree? Thank you.

The tree may regrow the branches from below where it was cut, and is very likely still alive, though it is hard to tell if it will regrow branches. But you cannot reattach limbs that have been removed. You may want to start over with a new tree as it will take some time for the tree to recover, if at all. I am sorry.
