Q.How Do I Balance Alkaline In My Soil?

Zone Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada | Anonymous added on September 12, 2021 | Answered

My soil is very high in alkaline (the surface is always coated with a white substance). Nothing much grows in the affected areas, so I’m wondering what I can do to improve the soil.

I would send a soil sample for analysis to see what nutrient deficiencies (low amounts) you may have or detect toxic levels of minerals (too high of minerals). We have lots of limestone and caliche soil in Texas and local plant nurseries adjust their inventory accordingly.
